Why Locals Love Bakmi Jogja Bengawan

Bakmi Jogja Bengawan is a charming Javanese restaurant and noodle shop nestled on Jl. Halimun No.2 in the heart of Bandung. Specializing in authentic Bakmi Jogja, this eatery masterfully captures the essence of Yogyakarta’s beloved noodle culture with each thoughtfully prepared dish.

From the moment you step inside, Bakmi Jogja Bengawan welcomes you with a cozy, traditional ambiance reminiscent of a vintage Indo-Dutch setting. The spacious, clean, and comfortable interior invites you to unwind and savor the flavors, whether you’re dining with friends or family. The warm lighting and subtle Javanese touches create a nostalgic yet lively atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience.

The culinary highlight here is undoubtedly their diverse Bakmi Jogja offerings presented in three distinct styles: Godhok (soup), Goreng (fried), and Nyemek (wet/freshly stewed). According to delighted customers, the Bakmi Nyemek and Bakmi Godhog stand out for their delicious, comforting taste profiles—each bite delivering a harmony of tender noodles, flavorful broths, and carefully selected ingredients. Notably, the use of kampong chicken adds a subtle, authentic richness that elevates the dishes beyond the ordinary.

Patrons appreciate the well-portioned servings priced reasonably around Rp 20–30k, making it an accessible treat for noodle enthusiasts. Beyond noodles, the accompanying drinks and side dishes receive praise for their remarkable flavors that complement the meal perfectly.

One of the restaurant’s distinctive charms is its commitment to authenticity, reflected not only in the food but also in the service style. Staff members exude genuine Javanese warmth, occasionally using the native language, which transport diners deeper into the Yogyakarta vibe—even while being in Bandung. For non-Javanese speakers, the language barrier has been noted as a mild challenge; however, this does not detract from the overall friendliness and attentiveness of the service.

Whether you're craving a nostalgic taste of Javanese noodles or seeking a cozy spot to enjoy a hearty meal, Bakmi Jogja Bengawan delivers an experience rich in tradition and flavor. Its blend of authentic taste, inviting atmosphere, and approachable prices makes it a must-visit destination for lovers of Indonesian cuisine.

Decent price, decent portion, and tastes very good. Last time I tried "Bakmi Nyemek", it tastes delicious. Services were satisfying. The place was big, clean, and comfortable. Good place to eat "bakmi" with your friends or family. Last visit on: 28 December 2025, 11:55 WIB.

This is actually the 3rd most delicious Bakmi Jogja I've ever taste right after the OG Bakmi Jogja Pak Pele and Bakmi Jogja Berkah Roso (in Depok). The taste is quite good. The noodle is a bit smaller than the usual bakmi Jogja. The eggs' not blends into the broth which makes it a bit "empty", it also use kampong chicken there. Overall I love the taste of this Bakmi Godhog. And the ambience makes you feel like you're in Jogja, the people serves you in java traditional clothes and they actually speak Javanese! Good food & great vibe = happy me!

A top notch authentic Bakmie Jogja I've ever taste in Bandung with very reasonable price!!! The drinks and side dishes are remarkable too. The place itself is cozy and traditional, makes you want to spend a lot of time here, really. If only we can understand Javanese cause we had a difficult time communicating with the staffs, using more Indonesian for non Javanese costumers maybe?

Authentic jogja noodle place, seeves bakmi, bihun, etc with 3 different style of serving (godhok, goreng, nyemek). Place has a vintage classic indo-dutch ambient to it, and the servants have a javanese accent (and occasionally uses javanese) even though the place is obviously in the middle of Bandung. Food was nice and comforting, portion is okay-ish, price for meals around Rp20-30k. Parking for cars are on the side of the road. One flaw i think of the place is the fact that they have an angklung ornament, which sometimes is played by toddlers which can be a bit noisy.

One of the best Jogja noodle (bakmi Jogja) restaurants in Bandung. The atmosphere and the building really support the atmosphere of Yogyakarta. Also supported by Javanese sinden and staff who are fluent in Javanese Kromo language. For the price it is quite affordable, but it is difficult to park a car. Must-try menus: Bakmi godhog, nyemek, fried bananas (pisang goreng), and tea pots of rock sugar (teh poci gula batu).

Parking : Plenty of parking near by, but in the weekend it is quite full. You may want to come early. Decoration : very javanese. Food & Drinks : my recommendation will be bakmi godhok (noodle with soup), very tasty, you may want to add some chilli sauce if you like spicy. Nasi goreng Jogja (fried rice) is a must try too. The rice is just right, not too soft or too hard. Dont forget to mention level of spiceness. Karak / legendar is a good side dish. You can eat it together with your noodle. It is a type of rice cracker. For dessert, dont forget to order their fried banana. Very tasty. Add some sugar for more flavour. Portion is quite small, for me who is a big eater, I need to order two portion. Price : very cheap and affordable for that kind of quality. Overall : will come back again to eat the same menu.

A nice place to eat and relax a bit, the javanese ornaments make it so relaxing and somewhat chilling. The food is okay, not the best I had tho. But what I found it staggering the portion of each dish is so little, considering the price isn't that cheap.
